Azuro’s
PowerCentric Demonstrates Over 20% Power Reduction for Ikanos
Communications
SANTA CLARA, CA–February 27, 2008–Azuro,
Inc. the provider of advanced clock implementation tools for nanometer
chip design, today announced that Ikanos Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:
IKAN), a leading developer and provider of Fiber Fast™ broadband
solutions, has augmented their existing low power design methodology
with Azuro’s PowerCentric™ clock tree synthesis (CTS) and optimization
solution. Ikanos adopted PowerCentric after an extensive evaluation.
PowerCentric reduced the clock power by greater than 20 percent.
Ikanos’ multi-mode VDSL2/ADSLx and network
processor solutions power access infrastructure and customer premises
equipment for many of the world’s leading network equipment
manufacturers, enabling fast and cost-effective carrier rollouts of
interactive broadband services. “Our customers’ power requirements push
the limits of cooling and power supply, so reducing power consumption
is a critical issue for these applications,” said Ravi Selvaraj, vice
president of product development, Ikanos. “We adopted PowerCentric in
order to maintain our leadership in delivering low power solutions to
our customers.”
Azuro's PowerCentric is a complete
multi-objective CTS capability managing power, routability and
variability in a single step in the design flow. PowerCentric
completely replaces traditional clock-tree synthesis (CTS) solutions by
unifying clock gate synthesis and clock tree buffering into a
physically aware optimization engine. The latest version of
PowerCentric supports advanced variability-aware design flows at 65nm
and below.
“Azuro is focused on the importance of the
clock tree to manage key performance trade-offs in the backend of the
design flow,” said Paul Cunningham, co-founder and chief executive
officer, Azuro. “Lower power is just one of many benefits PowerCentric
delivers, and we feel confident Azuro can help Ikanos continue to
deliver leading edge products that offer superior performance and
features.”
